Amidst growing controversy, the Education Department has taken a decisive step by sending a letter to the Governor, expressing concern over the appointment of interim Vice Chancellors without proper adherence to legal protocols. Allegations have been directed towards Governor Acharya CV Anand Bose for appointing interim vice-chancellors in four state universities without consulting the state government, leading to demands for withdrawal of the appointments. This unprecedented move marks the first instance of such a letter being sent to Raj Bhavan, indicating the gravity of the situation.
The letter, signed by the Senior Special Secretary, emphasizes compliance with Supreme Court directives, urging the Governor to withdraw the appointments associated with Acharya and consult the Education Minister before making any interim Vice Chancellor appointments.
